The SWAM Photo challenge is a touring and photographic event which is open to all.The above images are an example of places that had to be visited on the 2006 Photo Challenge.(To view a larger image please click on the picture)
The objective is to encourage you to use your vehicle for recreational touring in some of the best countryside in Wales, It is hoped that it will be fun and we can raise some money for charity (Wales Air Ambulance). It will require you to explore back roads and lanes that you may otherwise avoid, to visit places of interest (landmarks) that you may not have known existed. To prove you have visited the landmark you will be required to take a photograph of the site with your motorcycle at the scene along with the official Control Card.
There are a total of 50 landmarks to be visited throughout Wales. Each landmark is allotted 10 points which you can earn towards the award you have decided to 'GO' for.
It is intended that the challenge takes place from the 1st May to the 1st November. The speed you do it is, therefore, irrelevant. Entry fee for the Photo Challenge will be £20.00.
The list of Landmarks will be posted out to entrants just prior to the start date, all photographs and claim forms MUST BE RETURNED BY 15th NOVEMBER to the organizer, for marking.
You may start at any landmark and do as many or as few as you wish, also any number of machines or types may be used during the rally, but they must registered on the claims form and comply with all legal requirements for use on the public highway.
A selection of the most interesting pictures will be published on this web site.
A prize giving and social dinner is enjoyed in the New Year following the results being sent to all entrants, usually in a central location.
This rally will entail considerable time and effort to get the best out of it, not withstanding the mileage that will be covered if you decide to try to do all the landmarks. But the enjoyment and satisfaction will be well worth it.
REMEMBER YOU CAN DO AS MANY OR AS FEW AS YOU WISH!
